Holding on to Hope Ministries

Holding_on_to_hope_250pxNinety to one hundred per cent of individuals incarcerated have a history of abuse with a large percentage of those having suffered childhood sexual abuse.  Very few have ever shared their story.  The shame indwells the soul and silences the voice and holds the survivor in bondage.

Holding on to Hope Ministries endeavors to shine light on the silent plague of abuse by encouraging survivors to speak out.  The ministry speaks to prison populations through chapel programs or in conjunction with outreach programs like Youth Direct Ministries.  The one hour session speaks to the damage silence does and the hope for healing by speaking out.

Holding on to Hope also works with local prison ministries in Phoenix, Arizona providing counseling and healing for individuals recently released.  Very little biblical counseling is available for this population.  Confronting past abuse is painful but the rewards are great as survivors can finally be free of the silence and begin the long journey of healing.

Holding on to Hope Ministries is available to speak in conjunction with prison programs to both current inmates and to families waiting release of loved ones.
