Gain a solid understanding of the principles and best practices of prison ministry. These courses provide vital information about the nearly 2.5 million men and women in prison today. They will also lead participants to discover ways the Body of Christ can bring encouragement and hope to those impacted by crime and incarceration.
Prison Culture - Prison culture has its own set of rules, spoken and unspoken agreements and standards of acceptable behavior. Much like a missionary in a foreign land, it’s important to study the culture to understand how best to have an impact for the Kingdom. This course helps you discover the culture of prisons and best practices when engaging the population.
In-Prison Ministry - This in-prison ministry course is designed to equip volunteers to participate in ministry programs on prison grounds. With the knowledge and practical skills a volunteer can be used of God to bring encouragement and hope to those behind bars.
Mentoring - Prisoners need relationships with mature Christians who will help prepare them for reentry and guide them during their transformational journey and through the transition back into the community – often the most difficult part of their sentence. This Mentor Training course is designed to equip volunteers to establish solid, biblical mentoring relationships with prisoners and have a lasting positive impact on their lives.
To register for one or more of the courses listed above, complete the registration form (below) and a Program Support Specialist will provide you with instructions on how to access the training.
