Preparing Prisoners for Reentry

Preparing Prisoners for Reentry

Every year, 700,000 prisoners are released back into our communities. Though many have good intentions to “stay out,” 2 out of 3 will reoffend and 50 percent will return to prison within three years.

There is a better way.

The InnerChange Freedom Initiative (IFI) is a reentry program for prisoners based on the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. Inmates begin the program 18 to 24 months before their release date and continue for an additional 12 months once they have returned to the community.

This values-based program is built on the belief that real and lasting change takes place from within. IFI stresses personal responsibility, the value of education and hard work, and care of persons and property.

Will you invest in this crime stopping program?

There are many ways to get involved with IFI through volunteer service or financial support. If you choose, you may designate your gift to a specific IFI program in Minnesota or Texas.

With your involvement, many more prisoners will be able to leave prison prepared to contribute positively to their communities by:

  • Taking responsibility to care and provide for the needs of their family
  • Participating in local churches and other religious and civic organizations
  • Helping restore safety and stability to our communities by breaking free of their old cycle of crime
