From Despair to Hope

From Despair to Hope

It began on February 14, 2005 in Nevada, MO, Valentine’s Day. I had everything  a man could want including a good, faithful wife who loved me for who I was.  Sherrie and I had a really good marriage until that night. We had dinner with another couple and over time I began an affair with the other woman. This woman set me up and got me into trouble which resulted in me receiving five years probation.

I broke my probation and ended up in prison at the Algoa Correctional Facility in Jefferson City. While I was there I heard that my second wife, Britney, had taken her own life. It was the most desolate experience of my life. I had lost everything.

That month I joined the IFI program and this opened my eyes. The teachers and staff are great. They helped all of us with teaching on how to have a good family, avoid drugs, and live a productive life inside and outside of prison.  I wanted to change from the inside out and this what the IFI program is all about.

I am grateful to God and all those people who support the IFI programs. All of us inside prisons need this program to help us make those changes to equip us to be productive citizens once we get out.
