Testimony from Ramon Franco

Testimony from Ramon Franco

Any program can bombard the public with brash assertions and flashy statistics, but IFI offers more than that. Since its founding, IFI has helped many prisoners turn their lives around in truly transformational fashion by the grace of Jesus Christ.

How else could Ramon Franco - a man once beset by poverty, addictions, and a prison sentence - provide such stirring testimony to the impact of God in his life?

Before coming to IFI I was blind and walking in darkness because I never did anything positive in my life.  I was born in Mexico and my parents separated when I was seven years old.  Life was very hard.  At age 16 I found myself addicted to alcohol, pills, and marijuana.  I also sniffed paint and glue to get high.  Stealing also became part of my life. I grew up hating my father and my family in general.

Since becoming part of the IFI program here at Tucker I have become a changed man. God has taken the hate from my heart.  The IFI program helped to change me because it taught me about anger and how to deal with anger issues.  The “Criminal Addictive Thinking” book really changed me because it taught me to change my thinking and make better choices.  Currently I don’t have any communication with my family but I have a much better understanding of how to communicate with them upon my release.

I think everyone should know more about the IFI program because it is a life-changing program. Before IFI no one talked to me about God. The IFI program has taught me to become a better man, father, son, and what it means to be a Christian.  Thanks to IFI I’m now able to live better with a deeper understanding for life.
