On September 10, religious leaders, government officials, and community advocates gathered at First Baptist Church in West Monroe, Louisiana, to discuss what is being done to help individuals being released from prison integrate back into society.

“We have orchestrated reentry coalitions across the state of Louisiana,” said Jeff Williams, Louisiana field director for Prison Fellowship.  “It’s my responsibility to make sure all of these coalitions operate on the same page.”

The Out4Life reentry conference—led by Prison Fellowship—is one of several such gatherings spreading to states across the country.  The goal of these conferences is to provide support and encouragement for recently released prisoners in an effort to reduce recidivism rates.
