Community advocates recently accused Attorney General Eric Holder of “dragging his feet” on the issue of prison rape. The AG has been asked to set national standards to keep inmates from being subjected to sexual abuse during their time behind bars.
According to the U.S. Department of Justice, roughly 4.5 percent of all prison inmates report being victims of sexual assault during their time in prison. It also reportedly happens to one out of every eight incarcerated juveniles.
