Richard is a current inmate preparing for release. He recently was made aware of Inside Journal, and wants to make sure that those inmates who remain in prison after he has left have access to its message:
I am currently incarcerated. I was reading Chicken Soup for the Prisoner’s Soul. I saw your info in the back under programs and resources. God bless your organization. I will pray for your ministry to be funded to continue to change the hearts and minds of inmates. Incarceration doesn’t change an inmate. Spiritual reform changes the heart and education changes the mind. This gives opportunities and hope to inmates that they can change their present circumstances and hope for a new future. Please send me a free copy of Inside Journal. I will make sure to share info with all inmates and encourage all to think about their future and family. I will inform the jail commander and chaplain that this valuable resource is to remain at the jail after I am released. Thank you for your time and consideration in this matter.
In his salutation, Richard identifies himself as, “Inmate, Father of 2, Christian man looking toward the future, dealing with the present, forgetting the past.”
