In this week's Insider, Prison Fellowship® field director Denise Harris shares how prisoners in the state of Michigan celebrated Christmas this year.
At the annual Prison Fellowship Christmas concerts at the Federal Correctional Institution in Milan and the Women's Huron Valley Correctional Facility, men and women at both facilities were treated to a live performance from recording artist Rufus Harris.
"The men at Milan federal consider the Prison Fellowship Christmas Concert to be one of the highlights of the year," Harris says. "They enjoy spreading the word with [others] to ensure that there's a full house."
The prisoners shared that the concerts were encouraging.
"[The concert] blessed their soul," Harris explains. "It reminded them of the true meaning of Christmas. And it made the holidays in prison a little better."
Denise Harris and Prison Fellowship ask that you remember those incarcerated in America this Christmas, and pray that the hope and love of Christ would fill them. And we would like to thank you for your support this year.
"We cannot do this work without you," Harris says. "We have some exciting things planned in the new year and look forward to serving with you."
Happy holidays!
