UPDATE FROM SAMUEL PEREZ
Hey everyone. This is Sammy Perez checking in and I just wanted to give you a quick update as to how I've been doing since being released.
First, I just want to say that God continues to bless both myself and my family in some amazing ways. And in about two days now, my wife will be giving birth to twin boys and we are just so thrilled and excited about the opportunity that we have. We are sure that our lives will be filled with many sleepless nights but also great joy.
Also, career-wise, I actually just took a position at a residential treatment center for at-risk adolescents and I just really have a good opportunity there to pour into the lives of some young kids who are struggling in life.
Education-wise, I recently started my master's program in professional counseling at Liberty University. So I'm looking forward to continuing to excel there and hopefully becoming a licensed counselor in Virginia one day.
Lastly, I was recently appointed to an advisory committee that serves on juvenile justice prevention. I am really looking forward to that opportunity and just being able to be a voice for restorative justice.
So, I just want to thank you all for being a part of my life, thank you for your prayers, and thank you for all your support.
Take care.
