Lecrae: Prison Ministry During the Time of COVID-19

May 6, 2020 by Emily Harris Greene

Grammy-winning artist Lecrae joins Prison Fellowship® President and CEO James J. Ackerman to discuss prison ministry during the global health crisis.

Since the early 2000s, Lecrae has visited correctional facilities to encourage and perform for prisoners. In 2019, he and several other musical artists visited the Prison Fellowship Academy® at the Carol S. Vance Unit in Texas. Lecrae also advocates for second chances for the tens of millions of Americans who have paid their debt to society.

Lecrae shares about his visit to Angola, the Louisiana State Penitentiary, site of his "Don't Waste Your Life" music video. Hear a clip from one of his newest songs, "Set Me Free," at the end of the webinar.

Lecrae's upcoming album is set for release in late May 2020.
