May 1, 2023 by Prison Fellowship

Prison Fellowship®, the nation’s largest Christian nonprofit serving prisoners, former prisoners, and their families, released the following statement after the Biden administration announced several initiatives to promote second chances and reentry success at the close of Second Chance Month®.

“Removing roadblocks to work, entrepreneurship, housing, and civic engagement allows men and women who have paid their debt to society to reach for a second chance,” said Heather Rice-Minus, Executive Vice President of Strategic Initiatives. “As the annual celebration of Second Chance Month ends, we applaud the Administration for their work to this end and encourage leaders to use policy-making tools to better empower the 1 in 3 American adults with a criminal record to live out their God-given potential.”
