Hope Grows at STEM Camp

July 30, 2025 by Lou Haviland

Find out how a Prison Fellowship Angel Tree STEM camp is helping kids with incarcerated parents imagine a brighter future.

At a recent STEM camp sponsored by Prison Fellowship® Angel Tree, it wasn’t just robots that were brought to life. Hope, possibility, and purpose also came alive at this event in Dallas!

Hosted by local churches, this interactive camp challenged children to solve problems—such as how to make hand lotion and how to move robots through a maze—as well as to use their curiosity to find solutions.

Attendees heard powerful career testimonies and tackled hands-on activities that invited them to imagine futures as engineers, leaders, and inventors.

Parents were also blessed by the day’s event.

“They’re hugging, they’re embracing me and my children,” one parent said of the volunteers of this day-long camp. “They allowed me to express how I feel in that moment. … And at the end of the day, I believe that God did it all.”

Prison Fellowship believes that it is in restoration through faith in Jesus that lasting transformation and true hope take place. Watch this video to find out more about the enriching experiences that occurred at this Prison Fellowship STEM camp in Dallas!
