Why the Academy?
Individuals and communities are never static. Influences and interactions—both productive and destructive—shape who we are. This is just as true in prison, a community like any other. Left unaddressed, the brokenness that leads to criminality will continue to cause a spiral of harm.
But doing time doesn’t have to be this way. We believe it can be a life-changing journey. The path of transformation is steep—but worth it. The Prison Fellowship Academy® is here to show the way and equip those making the climb.

Transformation requires personal commitment. In the Academy, we create the environment and supply the tools to make this journey possible. Participants come together to form a community conducive to change. Every member does the hard work of learning to think and act in a new way.

of the ACADEMY
Important journeys require accurate maps. Based on decades of experience, we have identified four important themes on the way to lasting transformation. From exploring identity to examining faulty thinking and forming new goals, participants dig deep into who they are, the factors that shaped them, and where they are headed now.
The DESTINATION
Prison Fellowship Academy replaces criminal thinking and behaviors with renewed purpose and biblically based life principles. We call these values—learned, developed, and practiced in the Academy—the Values of Good Citizenship.
