2023 ANGEL TREE CHRISTMAS REGISTRATION

Does your church, group, or organization love sharing the Gospel? Do you have a special concern for the vulnerable and families? Sign up for Angel Tree Christmas today. We'll help you reconnect hurting families and share the Good News of Jesus Christ—the ultimate Christmas gift—with prisoners' children who live right in your area. Your simple act of love will give joy to families who might otherwise have little to celebrate, as you show these families the true meaning of Christmas.

How Does Angel Tree Work?

HOW DOES ANGEL TREE WORK?

Angel Tree® Christmas begins when a church, group, or organization registers for the program. Once registered, the process works like this:

-Beginning as early as October, the Angel Tree coordinator will receive the names of Angel Tree children who were signed up by their mom or dad in prison.

-The Angel Tree coordinator and other volunteers will contact each child’s caregiver to confirm permission for the child to participate and to discuss appropriate gifts.

-The church will set up an Angel Tree display with Angel Tree name tags for all the children, showing their ages and suggested gift ideas.

-Church members will hear about the Angel Tree program through their Sunday bulletins, pulpit announcements, etc. They will visit the Angel Tree display and select names of children needing Christmas gifts.

-Before Christmas, church members will work together to purchase, wrap, and deliver a gift for each child on behalf of his or her incarcerated parent—and in the process, share the Gospel.

-If a church or organization prefers to participate virtually rather than in-person, virtual tags will be made available via online platform. The church or organization will provide access to the tags to participants.

-Individuals will pay online to sponsor each gift package, and Prison Fellowship® will send sponsored gifts directly to Angel Tree kids. Each gift package will include a gift card, a personal message from the parent, an age-appropriate Gospel presentation, and an opportunity to request a Bible.

  • THE FOUNDATION OF WHAT WE BELIEVE

As a Christian organization, Prison Fellowship believes in the full authority of the Bible as God's inspired word and the complete tenets of the Apostle’s and Nicene Creeds.

We believe in one God, Creator and Lord of the Universe, the co-eternal Trinity; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe that Jesus Christ, God’s Son, was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, died a substitutionary atoning death on the cross, rose bodily from the dead and ascended to heaven where, as truly God and truly man, He is the only mediator between God and man. We believe that the Bible is God's authoritative and inspired Word, without error in all its teachings.

HOW WE ARE COMPELLED TO LIVE AND TO ACT

We believe that Christians, both individually and corporately, must submit to the Bible, as God’s authoritative, divine and inspired Word, in all matters of belief and conduct.

HOW OUR MISSION AND OUR APPROACH IS SHAPED

Prison Fellowship exists to bring glory to God and share His truth and love with those we serve, our employees, volunteers, and communities, according to Scriptural truths.

Our mission is to help restore those affected by crime and incarceration. This mission is founded on the Biblical conviction that all people are created in God’s image and that no life is beyond God’s reach.

Therefore, we believe that a restorative approach to prisoners, former prisoners, and all those affected by crime and incarceration reflects the God-given dignity and potential of every person and can help individual lives and communities flourish.

WHAT THE HOPE OF JESUS MEANS FOR OTHERS

We believe that Jesus—Himself brought to trial, executed, buried, and brought to life again—offers hope, healing, and a new purpose for each life. He can make even the most broken people and situations affected by crime and incarceration whole again.

    WHAT THIS MEANS FOR COMMUNITIES

Through an amazing awakening to new hope and life purpose available through Jesus, those who once broke the law are transformed and mobilized to serve their neighbors, replacing the cycle of crime with a cycle of renewal that restores entire communities. Because the Bible calls us to remember and visit those in prison, we believe that every Christian is compelled to contribute to this restorative cycle.

  • Prison Fellowship (PF) prioritizes the safety and protection of children and their information. PF does not permit individuals who have been arrested, charged, or convicted of a crime against a child to participate as volunteers in any way. Therefore, I agree and state that I have not engaged in or been arrested, charged, or convicted of a crime involving sexual abuse, violence, or exploitation of a child, and agree to participate in a criminal record check (at PF’s expense). Because PF is entrusting me with the names of Angel Tree children, I agree to make an appropriate effort to protect those children’s safety as I enlist the support of a volunteer team. I also agree that the child, caregiver, and prisoner information distributed by PF is confidential and proprietary in nature, and that I may use it for the sole purpose of the Angel Tree program. Name, address, and other contact information will be shared only with volunteers involved in Angel Tree. No information will be shared with any other persons or organizations for any other purpose without the written permission of PF. I have read and am in agreement with PF’s Statement of Faith. This volunteer application is not a guarantee of participation and PF reserves the right to decline an application or remove an individual from the program, in its sole discretion, including if the applicant is inconsistent with PF’s Mission or Statement of Faith.
