Angel Tree Registration

2021 ANGEL TREE CHRISTMAS REGISTRATION

Does your church, group, or organization love sharing the Gospel? Do you have a special concern for the vulnerable and families? Sign up for Angel Tree Christmas today. We'll help you re-connect hurting families and share the Good News of Jesus Christ—the ultimate Christmas gift—with prisoners' children who live right in your area. Your simple act of love will give joy to families who might otherwise have little to celebrate, as you show these families the true meaning of Christmas.

How Does Angel Tree Work?

HOW DOES ANGEL TREE WORK?

Angel Tree Christmas begins when a church, group, or organization registers for the program. Once registered, the process works like this:

-Beginning as early as October, the Angel Tree coordinator will receive the names of Angel Tree children who were signed up by their mom or dad in prison.

-The Angel Tree coordinator and other volunteers will contact each child’s caregiver to confirm permission for the child to participate and to discuss appropriate gifts.

-The church will set up an Angel Tree display with Angel Tree name tags for all the children, showing their ages and suggested gift ideas.

-Church members will hear about the Angel Tree program through their Sunday bulletins, pulpit announcements, etc. They will visit the Angel Tree display and select names of children needing Christmas gifts.

-Before Christmas, church members will work together to purchase, wrap, and deliver a gift for each child on behalf of his or her incarcerated parent—and in the process, share the Gospel.

VIRTUAL ANGEL TREETM: A NEW OPTIONAL WAY TO SERVE CHILDREN OF PRISONERS

Prison Fellowship® is committed to the health and well-being of Angel Tree volunteers like you and the families we serve. As Christmas approaches, our team has been preparing for worst-case scenarios in light of COVID-19, including the reality that many churches may be closed or other restrictions may be in place. Conducting Angel Tree Christmas the same as years past just may not be possible for many of our partners.

Virtual Angel Tree is a new, effective, and optional way for you to facilitate your Angel Tree program: You will have the flexibility to operate exactly as before, incorporate this new approach entirely, or apply a combination.

For more information you can view a webinar by clicking here and to the FAQs.

If you’d like to participate in Virtual Angel Tree, please include that in the comments section of your registration.

  • THE FOUNDATION OF WHAT WE BELIEVE

As a Christian organization, Prison Fellowship believes in the full authority of the Bible as God's inspired word and the complete tenets of the Apostle’s and Nicene Creeds.

We believe in one God, Creator and Lord of the Universe, the co-eternal Trinity; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe that Jesus Christ, God’s Son, was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, died a substitutionary atoning death on the cross, rose bodily from the dead and ascended to heaven where, as truly God and truly man, He is the only mediator between God and man. We believe that the Bible is God's authoritative and inspired Word, without error in all its teachings.

HOW WE ARE COMPELLED TO LIVE AND TO ACT

We believe that Christians, both individually and corporately, must submit to the Bible, as God’s authoritative, divine and inspired Word, in all matters of belief and conduct.

HOW OUR MISSION AND OUR APPROACH IS SHAPED

Prison Fellowship exists to bring glory to God and share His truth and love with those we serve, our employees, volunteers, and communities, according to Scriptural truths.

Our mission is to help restore those affected by crime and incarceration. This mission is founded on the Biblical conviction that all people are created in God’s image and that no life is beyond God’s reach.

Therefore, we believe that a restorative approach to prisoners, former prisoners, and all those affected by crime and incarceration reflects the God-given dignity and potential of every person and can help individual lives and communities flourish.

WHAT THE HOPE OF JESUS MEANS FOR OTHERS

We believe that Jesus—Himself brought to trial, executed, buried, and brought to life again—offers hope, healing, and a new purpose for each life. He can make even the most broken people and situations affected by crime and incarceration whole again.

    WHAT THIS MEANS FOR COMMUNITIES

Through an amazing awakening to new hope and life purpose available through Jesus, those who once broke the law are transformed and mobilized to serve their neighbors, replacing the cycle of crime with a cycle of renewal that restores entire communities. Because the Bible calls us to remember and visit those in prison, we believe that every Christian is compelled to contribute to this restorative cycle.

ANGEL TREE AND CELEBRATE RECOVERY PARTNERSHIP

In and out of prison, God is making all things new. Partnering in this renewal, Prison Fellowship® works with Celebrate Recovery (CR), a biblically based program that guides men and women in overcoming hurts, habits, and hang-ups. CR promotes Prison Fellowship's Angel Tree® program through CR chapters at churches and groups nationwide, meeting prisoners' families where they are, with the love of Christ. Every Christmas, participating CR chapters deliver Angel Tree gifts and the Gospel message, creating pathways to heal and restore the bonds of incarcerated parents and their children.
