Convened by Prison Fellowship, the Faith & Justice Fellowship is a bipartisan body including members of Congress, governors, and state legislators who are motivated by their various faith traditions to advance restorative values in criminal justice reform. Recognizing that no one is beyond redemption, members of the Fellowship support justice reform that transforms those responsible for crime, validates victims, and encourages communities to play a role in creating a more safe, redemptive, and just society.
The Faith & Justice Fellowship offers a space for members to share strategy and sharpen one another’s efforts on justice reform initiatives in their own jurisdictions. The group regularly convenes to provide mutual encouragement among like-minded leaders. These convenings frequently feature guest speakers who present cutting-edge information helpful to the advancement of values-based justice reform at the state and federal levels. In addition, members are invited to annual trips into prisons where the Prison Fellowship Academy® is flourishing.
THE MISSION OF THE FELLOWSHIP
The mission of the Faith & Justice Fellowship is to build, inform, and inspire a movement of policymakers and voters who believe that human dignity and redemption should be represented in our national dialogue on criminal justice. Members are committed to working in good faith with each other to reach the shared goal of restoration for communities, victims, and people who commit crimes. However, members are not obligated to support or oppose any particular legislation.
