THIS AIN'T VENICE BEACH. THIS IS PRISON BALL
"I live in California, it's sunny every day, a lot of things are a blessing. But faith would be different if I made some bad choices and ended up in here, right? That would be suffocating. But to have peace of God here [in prison] is different than having peace of God at the beach. You know what I mean? So, it's inspiring for me."— THE PROFESSOR
The Professor has traveled the world to play basketball. But he’s got a lot to learn about prison ball, and even more to learn about life and redemption.
After chopping it up on the court, The Professor spends time getting to know the men in their gym, in the chow hall, and in their cells. He shares about his own faith journey and meets participants of the Prison Fellowship Academy™—a program that takes people in prison through a complete life-transformation process—to learn about their life behind bars and their goals for the future.
It’s usually against the rules for visitors to take home anything they didn’t bring in, but The Professor managed to. He went home with a new perspective. And he hoped this wouldn’t be his last visit behind bars.
—"Talking with these prisoners one on one … this was one of the most impactful experiences of my life."
