I’d like for a peace of mind and protection over my family and friends. And for God to keep guiding me while I’m away from my family.

1 Samuel 17:34-49 David and Goliath. But David said to Saul, “Your servant has been keeping his father’s sheep. When a lion or a bear came and carried off a sheep from the flock, I went after it, struck it, and rescued the sheep from its mouth. When it turned on me, I seized it by its hair, struck it and killed it. Your servant has killed both the lion and the bear; this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, because he has defied the armies of the living God. The Lord who rescued me from the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear will rescue me from the hand of this Philistine.” Saul said to David, “Go, and the Lord be with you.” Then Saul dressed David in his own tunic. He put a coat of armor on him and a bronze helmet on his head. David fastened on his sword over the tunic and tried walking around, because he was not used to them. “I cannot go in these,” he said to Saul, “because I am not used to them.” So, he took them off. Then he took his staff in his hand, chose five smooth stones from the stream, put them in the pouch of his shepherd’s bag and, with his sling in his hand, approached the Philistine. Meanwhile, the Philistine, with his shield bearer in front of him, kept coming closer to David. He looked David over and saw that he was little more than a boy, glowing with health and handsome, and he despised him. He said to David, “Am I a dog, that you come at me with sticks?” And the Philistine cursed David by his gods. “Come here,” he said, “and I’ll give your flesh to the birds and the wild animals!” David said to the Philistine, “You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. This day the Lord will deliver you into my hands, and I’ll strike you down and cut off your head. This very day I will give the carcasses of the Philistine army to the birds and the wild animals, and the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel. All those gathered here will know that it is not by sword or spear that the Lord saves; for the battle is the Lord’s, and He will give all of you into our hands.” As the Philistine moved closer to attack him, David ran quickly toward the battle line to meet him. Reaching into his bag and taking out a stone, he slung it and struck the Philistine on the forehead. The stone sank into his forehead, and he fell face down on the ground.

Dear Lord Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer, I pray for Tomeka, Tomeka’s family, and for any victim(s) and their families. If they are not already doing so, I pray they will daily read “A Daybook of Grace – a year of devotions to draw you near to the Heart of God.”

Dear Lord, Continue to Bless Tomeka as she strives to do Your will. Engulf her in Your Holy Scriptures and grant her the gifts of Wisdom and Right Judgement to enable her to see how You are speaking those Blessed Words to her. Let Your Holy Spirit settle on her like a dove and give her true Peace of Heart. Keep her connected to her family and place them under Your Protective Grace. In Your time reunite them and let them grow together in ways they never thought possible. Amen

Lord, we petition for our sister in Christ to be free from anxiety. That you grant her a sound mind to make wise decisions over her life.

“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind.”

Lord we also ask You to grant her the ability to cast her anxieties on you while You take care of her family. We come to the throne of grace in her time of need.

“Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.”

“Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”

Lord we ask for Psalm 91 protection for her and her family in Jesus name! Amen

Dearest Tomeka,

I pray that the Peace of God that surpasses all understanding would guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus. I pray that God gives you peace. You know, God sets a limit on how much we are tempted or what we would need to ensure. You are more than a conqueror and can do it. He gives us the strength to handle it and knows were our limits end. We praise God for his wisdom and love.

Psalm 23 should always be in your heart and spirit. The Lord is your Shepherd, you shall not want…. even though you walk through the valley of shadow of death, you shall not fear. He is with you. His Shepherd rod and staff protect you…. He restores your soul.

May the Lord bless you and keep you. May His face shine upon you and give you peace!
