Verses on Faith, Hope, and Freedom

The following verses can help women and men in prison understand the freedom and hope that is in Christ. Reading these verses can strengthen prisoners as they face the challenges of the daily life of prison.

FAITH, HOPE, AND FREEDOM

Psalm 118:5—Out of my distress I called on the Lord; the Lord answered me and set me free.

Isaiah 43:19—See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.

Matthew 5:8—Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.

Romans 12:12—Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.

Romans 15:13 —May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.

2 Corinthians 3:17—Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.

Hebrews 11:1—Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.

James 1:12—Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love Him.
