If you have a loved one who is in prison—whether your husband, partner, father, or son—they need to know they have not been forgotten. Writing letters, visits, and phone calls are wonderful ways to stay connected and raise your loved one’s spirits.
Just as essential to those behind bars is spiritual inspiration, providing them with a source of comfort, guidance, and even joy in the midst of difficult times. Although they may feel that hope is lost, your loved one in prison is not beyond God’s help and compassion.
Here are 10 uplifting Bible verses for men needing the hope of spiritual freedom in Christ.

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.”
—Isaiah 41:10
For the man seeking guidance
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.”
—Proverbs 3:5–6

—2 Corinthians 4:16–18
For the man seeking boldness

—2 Timothy 1:7
For the man searching for peace

For the man facing a difficult season in their life

—1 Timothy 4:8
Our prayer is that these Scriptures will fill your loved one in prison with hope and joy, and that the Holy Spirit will use them to encourage them in all that is good, true, and pure. His Word never returns to Him empty but will accomplish what He desires and achieve the purpose for which He sent it (Isaiah 55:11).
All Scriptures are from the New International Version of the Holy Bible.
