For more than 30 years, thousands of churches across the U.S. have partnered with Prison Fellowship’s Angel Tree program to minister to children and families of the incarcerated. The Family Embraced tool kit (published by Prison Fellowship) was developed to help churches learn more about the families of the incarcerated and how to help them with their unique needs.
FAMILY EMBRACED SESSIONS
The Family Embraced training is designed to be offered in eight 60- to 90-minute sessions.

The session topics are:
- Ministering to Children and Families of the Incarcerated
- Who Are the Children of Incarcerated Parents?
- Family Matters
- The Parent Inside
- What Do Incarcerated Parents, Their Children, and Families Need?
- The Church’s Role
- Skills for an Effective Ministry
- Implementation Strategies for Churches
The Family Embraced tool kit includes a softbound facilitator’s guide and a PDF file for printing the participant’s resources and handouts. Each training session includes a dynamic DVD presentation followed by meaningful group discussions and learning activities.
