No matter how far you think you are from God—He is for you, and He is near.
If you have ever needed a reminder that there’s no space beyond God’s reach, this short documentary makes it unmistakably clear.
Prison is so often portrayed in movies, books, and television as a place of suffering and loss—and it can be. But at San Quentin Rehabilitation Center, something extraordinary is happening. During a recent Hope Event® at the facility, local churches, pastors, and spoken word artists came together with the Church inside to express praise and worship to God.
These are testimonies and performances of men behind concrete walls who have encountered hope in the most unlikely of places. Those who once felt forgotten and shamed speak, sing, and rap of their gratitude to the God who healed their wounds and has given them eyes to see a better future.
“Hope is like, in this dark place, that piece of light that drops in to get us activated,” one resident said. “To me, that’s what God’s love looks like.”
As you watch this short documentary, remember that God makes His presence known everywhere, especially where suffering and grief live. Remember that He knows your longings, dreams, and losses—and is ready to meet you where you are.
