PRISON FELLOWSHIP: Smarter Sentencing Act

Five years ago, Congress passed the Fair Sentencing Act (FSA) of 2010. The law lowered sentencing disparity between powder and crack cocaine and eliminated mandatory minimum sentences for simple possession of crack cocaine.

In a perfect world, people wouldn’t commit crimes. They wouldn’t hurt one another or themselves.

In a perfect imperfect world, people who committed crimes would receive a just punishment, one that was proportionate to the harm they had caused.
