PRISON FELLOWSHIP: Task Force

In 2014, in an all-too-rare case of bipartisan cooperation, Congress created the Charles Colson Task Force on Federal Corrections to tackle what many have called a crisis in the federal prison system.

It was just a few months before Chuck went home to Jesus. We were sitting in his home in Naples, Florida, and he was “schooling” me, as he did several times in the nine months he and I were together at Prison Fellowship.

On January 16, the U. S. Senate passed the FY 2014 Omnibus Bill.  By doing so, it established the Charles Colson Task Force on Federal Corrections.  The non-partisan task force will make recommendations on a host of issues surrounding the criminal justice system, including recidivism rates, rights of both victims and inmates, and cost controls.
