Lockdowns Can't Restrict the Hope of the Gospel Message

The COVID-19 pandemic has led to prison closures and events cancellations. However, Prison Fellowship® continues to serve prisoners behind bars, even during lockdowns. Thanks to offerings like Inside Journal® and our Bibles for prisoners campaign, hope is still available to prisoners.
GOD'S PARATROOPER
Prison Fellowship founder Charles Colson once referred to Inside Journal as "God's paratrooper behind prison walls." Published four times a year, the prison newspaper is a four-page, full-color publication written specifically for men and women behind bars. It is available via bulk shipment to chaplains and ministry volunteers at no cost.
Launched in 1990, Inside Journal is packed with a variety of inspiring and engaging content on topics like parenting, conflict resolution, trauma and addiction recovery, preparation for release, and much more. Available in men's, women's, and Spanish editions, this newspaper provides a unique way to share stories of hope and healing with the incarcerated community. Each edition also includes free resources, like Bible studies, devotionals, and crossword puzzles.
ATTENTION CHAPLAINS
The upcoming Summer 2020 editions of Inside Journal will arrive in prisons the first week of June. Contact Prison Fellowship at insidejournal@pfm.org to place you order. But hurry—orders for Summer 2020 must be placed before April 20, 2020.
With a circulation of nearly 1 million copies a year in more than 800 facilities nationwide, Inside Journal is available to all security levels and all types of facilities (county, state, federal, military, addiction recovery centers, etc.). It’s a great way to bring hope to even the darkest, most inaccessible parts of prison, like solitary confinement.
SPRING 2020 EDITIONS
Now—more than ever before—Inside Journal is an important resource on the inside. The latest edition—Spring 2020—just arrived in prisons this March. The three versions of this edition are also available on our website as free downloads.
If you have a loved one behind bars and want to print a copy for them, you can. Visit our Inside Journal archive for the Spring 2020 edition and other editions spanning the past eight years.
THE LIFE RECOVERY BIBLE
Another way we can share the hope of the Gospel with prisoners during this difficult time is by donating Bibles to prisoners.
Prison Fellowship has partnered with Tyndale House Publishers to create a special Life Recovery Bible just for prisoners. This Bible is available in English and Spanish. It is also a large-print edition—a specific request often made by prisoners, who often have trouble accessing reading glasses. The Inside Journal Life Recovery Bible also includes 84 Bible-based devotionals that are tied to the 12 steps of recovery, as well as articles on overcoming addiction.
And this year, because the Coronavirus has shut down correctional facilities and canceled special events, Tyndale has offered to go one step further for Prison Fellowship. For every Bible order, they will also send one of our Easter cards on our behalf.
GIVE HOPE TO A PRISONER TODAY
Every day, incarcerated men and women write to us requesting Bibles. However, for us to fulfill these requests, we depend on the financial support from donors like you. God's Word changes lives. Your gift today puts Bibles directly into their hands. Will you partner with us to bring hope to prisoners?
